Elizabeth M. Nixon

Elizabeth "Beth" Nixon passed away on Thursday, October 23rd, 2025 at the age of 71 at Cape Cod Hospital after a long, courageous and seven year battle with Multiple Myeloma.

Beth was born in Maynard, MA on November 6th, 1953 to the late Eleanor and William Hellawell.

Beth graduated from Maynard High School in 1971 where she was a standout athlete in basketball, field hockey and softball. She began her career, after secretarial school, at Hewlett Packard and on to Digital Equipment Corporation where she met her husband Mark in 1978.

She retired in 1981 after the birth of he first child, daughter Kemmy, her late son Samuel in 1983 and son Ryan in 1988. Her full-time vocation became the raising on her children.

In 1989 Beth and her husband relocated to New South Wales, Australia where she continued in her passion and excellence in softball and soccer.

Upon returning to Massachusetts she continued to excel in softball, soccer and USTA tennis and made many great teammates and friends. In 2018 she was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma.

Beth is survived by her husband Mark, loving and loyal and companion Finnley; her daughter Kemmy Trottier and husband Todd of Bellingham MA, and her two sons Cameron and Logan; her son Ryan of Yarmouth port MA; her sister Mary Piasecki, her husband Leon of Harvard MA, and their daughter Alison of Colorado; and granddaughter Klover Nixon of New Hampshire; her sister Gail Sloan of Florida and her three children Elizabeth Sloan of California, Terry Sloan of Massachusetts and Eric Sloan of Arizona; Sister in law Rose Hellawell of New Hampshire. She is also survived be many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations to Saint Jude children's hospital.

A viewing will be held on November 3rd, 4-7 pm at Nickerson Funeral Home in Orleans. A funeral will be on November 4th at 11am at Saint Joan of Arc church in Orleans MA
