Obituary of Gerard Thomas Csaposs
Gerard Thomas Csaposs - Born November 7, 1947. Son of the late John and Alma Csaposs. Predeceased by his long-time companion Benjamin McMahon. Survived by his brother Donald Csaposs and his wife Joan, by his beloved niece Dyanna and nephew Brendan, as well as numerous cousins in Massachusetts and beyond. Friends were of immense importance to Gerry, and he had an abundance of them, too many to list. They know who they are, and Gerry and his family truly appreciated all that they did for him and for Ben as they navigated life's troubled waters. The care provided at Cape Cod Hospital in Gerry's final days is deeply appreciated by his family. Gerry was a proud native of New York City. He was a teacher and an administrator at Saint Francis de Sales School for the Deaf for over 25 years before retiring to live in his parents' home in Orleans in 2002. After moving to the Cape, Gerry worked at the Day Center at the Orleans COA and was a Meals on Wheels volunteer. He was also involved in numerous activities at Saint Joan of Arc Church, where he was particularly devoted to serving as a Minister of the Eucharist to homebound parishioners. Family and friends are invited to join in a celebration of his life at Saint Joan of Arc Church on Canal Road in Orleans at 11:00 AM on Saturday, March 20, 2021. Committal will follow immediately at Orleans Cemetery. All COVID-19 safety protocols will be observed at both the church and the cemetery. It was Gerry's wish that, in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made to organizations that, in this time of health crisis, work to feed the hungry and house the homeless.
