

HARWICH – Glenn Grant Gannon, 83, of Harwich, ascended to Heaven on, Friday, September 19th. The family was blessed to be by his side the last couple of days to listen to his stories and enjoy his humor.
Glenn spent his youth in Lynn, attending Lynn English High; playing football. He received his undergraduate degree from Northeastern University in Electric Engineering and Business Administration. His professional career was with New England Electric, retiring from Narragansett Electric, in Providence, R.I. in 1995. He was a graduate of the management model of Dr. W. Edward Deming; and implemented Deming’s philosophy in his management style. He also attended law school to expand his business knowledge.
He spent his retirement in Harwich. Glenn was a Rotarian in Rhode Island and continued his active membership with the Chatham Rotary. He was a proud recipient of the Paul Harris Fellowship. He also served on the board of the Providence, R.I. Salvation Army assisting in Childhood education. Glenn supported many youth programs believing that children’s education was the growth of our future. He served as president of the Newcomers of Harwich and Chatham Club, which was a very complimentary role for his personality. He was an avid golfer and bridge player.
Glenn is survived by Barbara, his supportive and loving wife of 59 years; his two children; Gayle G. Lee of Mashpee and Greg G. Gannon of Somerset; and his three grandchildren Sam Gannon, Brian Lee, and Ashley Lee who gave him much joy and pride. His life was also enriched by his four nephews: Gary, Glenn, Geoffrey, and David Gannon.
Visiting hours will be held Wednesday, September 24th from 6 to 8pm at the Nickerson Funeral Home in Orleans, with a Celebration of Life Service at St. Peters Lutheran Church, Route 137, Harwich at 11:30am on Thursday. September 25th.
