Harriet Royal

ORLEANS – Harriet C. Royal, 96, of Orleans, passed away peacefully on August 12, 2014 with her daughter Susan by her side at the Terraces of Orleans.

Harriet lived in Bethlehem, PA for many, many years and during those many years she taught high school until she retired in 1975. She decided to move to Cape Cod with her two adopted daughters from South Korea, Moira and Susan.

Harriet was an active and devoted member of her church, St. Joan of Arc in Orleans for many years. During that time, she was a manager of St. Joan of Arc thrift shop and a member of the church guild. In her free time she enjoyed painting and taking long walks with her beloved dog, Happy. She also enjoyed entertaining her friends at her home.

She leaves behind her two daughters, Moira Royal and Susan A. (Royal) Springsteen; and two grandsons, Brian Springsteen Jr. and Branden Springsteen.

Memorial donations may be in her name to St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church in Orleans.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10am on Monday, August 25th at St. Joan of Arc, Orleans, MA. All are welcome to a gathering that will follow in the church hall.
