

She was a devoted mother to her son Charlie, and a brilliant, resilient, and empathetic individual—a passionate and loving daughter, sister, friend and devoted aunt.
Heather's distinguished career in commercial real estate began with Cushman & Wakefield and continued with JRT Realty in New York City, where she worked with unwavering dedication for her clients. translating business strategy to optimize real estate platforms throughout all phases of the business lifecycle.
Her greatest passion, however, was motherhood. Following her Sister Lisa's passing in 2010, she embraced the responsibility of raising Charlie with remarkable grace and boundless love.
Heather was born in Chicago IL. on November 15, 1956. She lived in France, New Haven, Connecticut, Morgantown, West Virginia, Philadelphia and ultimately New York City.
She was an accomplished cook, dedicated gardener, voracious reader, and lover of movies, and held strong political convictions, which she shared enthusiastically through spirited debates with all who had the pleasure of her company.
Heather earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Wellesley College and received a Production Fellowship from the American Film Institute in Los Angles where she enjoyed working on various projects.
She is predeceased by her Mother Eleanor, Father Jerome, and sister Lisa.
She is survived by her son Charles August Sloan, Chicago Joshua Adam Sloan and his wife Karen, Philadelphia, and their children Maxwell James Sloan, his wife Stephanie, and their daughter Reagan Philadelphia, Nathan Griffith Sloan New York and Morgan Hartley Sloan Esq. Boston.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, May 30, 2026, at Nickerson Funeral Home, 77 Eldredge Park Way, Orleans, MA, beginning at 10:00 a.m., followed by private graveside service at approximately 11:00 a.m. at The Orleans Cemetery, near the Tonset Road entrance, Orleans, MA. All are welcome to join the family at Nickerson Funeral Home and to gather in prayer at the graveside service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to Wellesley College (www.wellesley.edu) and or Goucher College (www.goucher.edu)
