Helen K. Wilson, 86, passed away at the Terraces Orleans on November 18, 2018 after an eight year battle with dementia. Born in Norristown, PA to Greek immigrant parents, Theodore and Malamate Katsias on March 18, 1932.
Helen did many things in her life, executive secretary in NYC and San Francisco, third grade school teacher in PA, world traveler and motel owner operator. She attended Penn State and got her BA teaching degree from Westchester State in PA.
Helen and Robert were married on April 11, 1970 at the Episcopal Chapel in Valley Forge, PA. Helen lived in Roselle Park, NJ with her husband for two years, and then they bought the 15 unit Wellfleet Motel in South Wellfleet. After 2 expansions they owned and operated the 65 unit Wellfleet Motel and Lodge which included Harrigan’s Café. She was a key player in the business and deserved full credit for the success of the motel.
Helen is predeceased by her parents, her sister Anastasia Berger and her infant son Chris. She was married to her husband Robert for 48 years. She leaves her son Ted Wilson, daughter-in-law Jessica Wilson, 2 grandchildren Andrew Wilson and Julie Wilson. She leaves 4 nieces and nephews, 11 grand nieces and nephews and 9 grand nieces and nephews on her husband’s side, her sister-in-law and husband in NJ.
A viewing will be held between 10 am and 11:30 am and a service at 11:30 am at Nickerson Funeral Home, 77 Eldredge Park Way, Orleans on November 28. Burial will follow at the Orleans Cemetery on Tonset Road, Orleans.
The time and place of the celebration of Helen’s life will be announces at the funeral home. We will miss her dearly especially her radiant smile. This is not goodbye, but we will meet again.
