Hillman H. Wordell Jr.

Hillman H. Wordell Jr., 73, of Orleans passed away Monday November 25, 2013 at home after a long battle with Alzheimer’s. He was the husband of the late Patricia M. Wordell. Born in Dighton, MA on December 6, 1939 the son of the late Hillman H. and Edna Wordell. Mr. Wordell grew up in Somerset MA, graduated from Somerset High School, and earned a Bachelor of Science from Southeastern Massachusetts University with a degree in Textile Engineering. He worked for Firestone Tire and Rubber Company in Fall River as a salesman, Kent County Volkswagen as the Service Manager, Co Owned Ramsden’s Mobil in Warwick RI, and then ran Murray’s Fabrics along with his wife Patricia until they retired in 2002. Mr. Wordell was a life member of the Elks Club. He is survived by his son William H. Wordell II and wife Jennifer of Orleans, brother Jeffrey Wordell and wife Christina of Somerset, and two grandchildren Christian, and Cullan. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in his name to: Orleans Odd Fellows, 2 Namskaket Road, Orleans, MA 02653. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 3rd, from 5-8 PM, at the Nickerson Funeral Home, 77 Eldredge Park Way, Orleans. A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday December 4th, at 10AM, at the Orleans Methodist Church, 73 Main St, Orleans. Burial will follow in the Orleans Cemetery, Tonset Rd, Orleans.
