Jane Catherine Cuoco

She was born to the late John and Estelle Shea on May 28th, 1943 and grew up in Hingham, MA.

Jane had a long and fulfilling career as a lifelong educator in the Weymouth Public School system. Her passion started with teaching 4th grade but did not stop there. Jane wore many hats from teaching middle school, a guidance counselor and assistant principal. Jane had a gift for empowering young girls and teaching them how to navigate through life. She was a proud co-founder of the Gifted and Talented Program which provides proper resources to identify and aid gifted students in the Weymouth Schools.

In Jane’s free time, she volunteered for Lower Cape Outreach and was a member of the Cape Cod Ukulele Club. Jane was a kind soul who cared for everyone. She even would knit sweaters for penguins in Australia that have been affected by oil spills.

Jane is predeceased by her beloved parents John and Estelle Shea of Hingham, MA.

She is survived by her loving husband, Michael Cuoco of Orleans, MA. Her sisters, Eleanor Molina of Methuen, MA and Patricia Shea of Naples, FL. She will be missed by her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law. She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews.

Calling hours will be held on Friday December 22nd from 5-8PM at Nickerson Funeral Home, 77 Eldredge Park way, Orleans, MA. A funeral mass will be held at St. Joan of Arc on Saturday December 23rd at 11 AM followed by a burial at Orleans Cemetery.
