

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Janet A. (Pescatore) Rago, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, sister, daughter and friend. Janet departed this life peacefully on October 31, 2024, surrounded by her family.
Born on May 29,1943 in Boston, MA. Janet was a beacon of light throughout her life, which was marked by her dedication to her family. She was able to touch countless lives with her generosity and warmth. As a mother, she nurtured her children with endless love and care, always putting their needs before her own. Her grandchildren were the light of her life, and she cherished every moment spent with them. Janet's home was a haven of joy, filled with laughter, stories, and the aroma of her famous home-cooked meals and delicious desserts.
Janet's legacy of strength and resilience will live on in the hearts of her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her late husband, Richard F. Rago Sr. She is survived by her loving children, Patrick Rago and his wife Michelle Rago, Angela Bumpus and her husband Erik Bumpus, Carolynn DiCostanzo and her husband Frank DiCostanzo, Richard F. Rago Jr. and his wife Kelley J. Spence, and Nicholas Rago and his wife Andrea Rago, her adored grandchildren, Natalie Rago, Nicolette Rago, Christina DiCostanzo, Sara DiCostanzo, Ella Rago, Dominic Rago and Matteo Rago, and many friends and relatives.
The daughter of Louis and Nicoletta Pescatore and the last living sibling of Albert Pescatore, Louis Pescatore, and Irene Pescatore (Pittore).
Family and friends are kindly requested to attend visiting hours Thursday, November 7, 2024 from 8:30 AM - 10:00 AM at Nickerson Funeral Home, 77 Eldredge Park Way, Orleans, MA. A memorial service to celebrate Janet's life will immediately follow at 10:00 AM at the funeral home. Burial services will take place at 12:30 PM at the Bourne National Cemetery in Bourne, MA. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to FECOA (Friends of the Eastham Council of Aging) PO Box 1203, North Eastham, MA 02651, an organization near and dear to her heart.
Janet Rago will always be remembered with deep affection. Her joyful spirit and loving nature will forever guide us, a testament to the remarkable influence one person can have on the lives of many. Rest in peace, Janet, knowing that your impact will never fade, and you will always hold a special place in our hearts.
