Joan Clarke

BREWSTER - Joan Buddington Clarke passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, December 12, 2013. Born in Springfield, Massachusetts on January 28, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Earl Lewis and Marion C. Buddington. Joan was predeceased by her husband Kenneth R. Clarke who died in 2005. She graduated from Technical High School in Springfield and Bryant College, Providence Rhode Island. She was employed by Package Machinery Co., East Longmeadow, MA after graduating and returned to work there again after raising four children. In 1990, Joan and Kenneth retired to Brewster, a lifelong dream, and spent retirement traveling, gardening and walking Cape beaches in search of sea glass. They were active members of Brewster Baptist Church.

Joan was predeceased by her sister Jean, and her husband Harold Philbrick of Centerville who both passed away this fall. She is survived by her four children and seven grandchildren. Wingina,VA and Craig and his wife Debra, their sons Christian and Ian of Campton, New Hampshire.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday Dec.15, 2013 at Brewster Baptist Church, to be followed by a burial at the National Cemetery, Bourne at 2pm. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the charity of your choice.
