Julian C. "Pete" Hayes, of North Eastham, passed away on June 28. He was 88.
He was the son of Julian and Ola Hayes, and husband to the late Helena Hayes. He is survived by his daughter Vicki of North Eastham, son and daughter-in-law Bill and Sandy of North Eastham, and son Bryon of Tecumseh, Michigan. He leaves two brothers: William of Eastham and Robert of Ocala, Florida.
Julian attended school at the old one room schoolhouse in Eastham and graduated from Orleans High School in 1941.
Prior to graduation, Julian began work at Nickerson's Lumber Company, which became Mid Cape Center, in Orleans, Dennis, and Wellfleet, where he worked until he retired in 2007.
