Leonora J. "Nonnie" Degnan

She was born on June 12, 1922 in Eastham, MA. She was a life-long Cape Codder. She was employed at Acme Laundry in Chatham, Ship Ahoy, Dories Restaurant, Westinghouse, Cummings Store, Cranberry House, all for many years.

She was the owner and operator of Nonnie’s Restaurant in Orleans for the past 44 years. This was her pride and joy, and her customers where part of her family. She loved gardening, planting, and doing activities with her family.

She is survived by, her daughter, Helen “Ginny” Kitch of Galena, KS and Orleans, MA, her sister, Evelyn “Bernice” Nickerson of Chatham, MA, six grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews, and her dog, Daisy. She was the mother of the late Christine Olson. She was predeceased by her 8 siblings.

Her visitation will be held on Monday, June 14, 2010 from 3-7 p.m., in the Nickerson Funeral Home, 77 Eldredge Park Way, Orleans, MA. Her funeral service will be held on Tuesday, June 15, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. in the Orleans United Methodist Church, Main Street, Orleans, MA, followed by her burial in the Orleans Cemetery, Orleans, MA.
