She was predeceased by her parents Richard and Pearl Carlson of Farmington Ct., her nephew Tyler Sears of Brewster, and her mother-in-law Jean Hill of Brewster.
She leaves behind her beloved husband James (Jima) Hill of Brewster, cherished sister Cynthia Sears of Wellfleet and her partner John Tansy of Wellfleet, loving nephew Cory Sears of Wellfleet, brother and sister-in-law Mike and Bev Hill of The Villages, FL, nieces and nephews Tiffany and Jeff Rodgers of Sandwich and Jenni and Peter Stetkiewicz of Oxford, FL, her partner in crime Jules Wheeler of Orleans, along with her treasured chihuahuas Sugar and Ginger.
She worked for 37 years at VCA Pleasant Bay Hospital in Harwich where caring for animals was her passion. Linda was an advocate of rescue animals, animal rights and no kill shelters. And she was also a huge fan of donkeys, octopuses and bees! Her dream job was owning donkeys and selling pecans by the road side in Arizona. And everyone who knew and loved her can hear her saying that in their heads.
Linda loved the beach, everything from collecting beach glass, to getting Cape Cod’s best tan every summer. She was a fixture at Linnell Landing beach on any sunny weekend or day off from work and we will always be able to find her spirit at the ocean.
Linda had begun to teach herself floral arranging, she loved everything about it. She had a real talent for color, texture and shape and created beautiful bouquets and loved to share her masterpieces online and in person.
Linda was a baking queen and never again will we be able to ooh and ahh over the most amazing ice cream cakes on birthdays and light as air cheesecakes at the holidays using a recipe handed down to her from her mother-in-law Jean, and she was so proud to do it justice.
Halloween was her absolute favorite holiday and she celebrated it to the fullest all October long. King Richard's Faire was always a must, camping at Normandy Farms for their big Halloween weekends, pumpkin carving was a religious experience, and trips to Salem, MA happened all year long. We are grateful to have had one more trip there to celebrate her birthday the weekend before she passed.
Linda was a life force, she had a wicked sense of humor, an infectious laugh, and could make friends with everyone she met. She also leaves behind her dear friends Bambi White, Donna Sears and Diane Racette as well as hundreds of friends far and wide that are devastated by her too soon passing.
