

Louise Barbara Tournoux, formerly of Harwich Port, MA and New City, NY died July 28, 2016. She was 97. She is survived by daughters, Barbara Braley and Gail Cahill of Eastham, MA; son, Bruce Tournoux and his wife, Joan of Escondido, CA; sister and brother-in-law, Lucille and Robert Lenk of Philadelphia; grandchildren, Scott Braley and his wife, Annie of Fairfield, CT, Todd Braley of Philadelphia, Eric Braley and his wife, Jennifer of Harwich, MA, Lauren and Renee Tournoux of Escondido, and Nicole Harrington and her husband, Paul of Queensbury, NY; and great-grandchildren, Raegan and Madeleine Braley, Conrad Braley and Anthony Begbie. She is also survived by a nephew and several nieces.
Louise was born on September 1, 1918 in New York, the daughter of Frank and Isabelle Novotny. She is predeceased by brothers, Frank and Joseph Novotny, sisters, Gladys Gallagher, Frances Jennings, and Isabel White; her former husband Basil Tournoux and son-in-law, Ronald Braley.
Louise graduated from Walton High School in the Bronx. She was a dental hygienist during World War II. After her children were grown, she was the office manager for many years for Allied Printing in New Jersey.
She had a wonderful sense of humor, loved classical music and the Moody Blues, loved to travel and listen to audio books. Before she developed macular degeneration, she loved to read, do crossword puzzles, knit and mall walk, plus, she was a great baker.
Louise was a deacon at Germonds Presbyterian Church in New City, where there will be a memorial service in the fall.
