OBITUARY
Madeleine Weiss
May 5, 1924 – December 1, 2012
WEISS – Madeleine(nee Witsenhausen), of Eastham, died peacefully December 1, at the age of 88 years. She is survived by her loving husband of 65 years, Karl; daughter Carol (John) Davidson; son Alan (Lynne) Weiss; grand children Elizabeth (Leo) Wang, Abigail (Greg) Abazorius, Rachel Weiss and Elliot Weiss; great-granddaughter Sophia Wang; brother Hans (Helen) Witsenhausen; cousin Ernest (Martha) Bial. Born in Frankfurt am Main, Germany, Madeleine survived the Holocaust in Brussels, Belgium. She immigrated to the United States in 1947, where she lived a full and rewarding life with her family in Needham and subsequently North Eastham, Mass. She was an avid painter; her home is filled with the beauty of her art. After her college education was interrupted by WWII, Mrs. Weiss proudly received her BA in Fine Arts from Northeastern University in 1986. Madeleine greatly enjoyed the beautiful beaches in Eastham and was renowned for her potato salad. A memorial service is planned for this spring. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Visiting Nurse Association of Cape Cod would be greatly appreciated. Their compassion and support have been invaluable to Madeleine and her family

It is with a heavy heart that we learned of the passing of our beloved Madeleine. She may have been known for her potato salad, but she was known for all of her great cooking, her warmth, her laugh, and her total devotion to her husband, Karl. Our deepest sympathy to the entire family.
