Born and raised in Jersey City, New Jersey by her parents P. Theodore and Bertha Folkens. She met and married her husband William Elliott in 1953. William predeceased her in 2021 and they enjoyed 68 happy years together.
Margaret is survived by her loving Daughters Susan and Beth and was a proud and loving grandmother to William (Michelle) and Allison. She adored her 5 great-grandchildren Ryan James, Lucas William, Jack Joseph, Charlotte Beth and Lilly Anne.
After briefly working at the Federal Reserve Bank in New York City, Margaret chose to be a homemaker and devoted her life to her husband and daughters in New Jersey. Her house was always spotless and she was a terrific cook and wonderful baker.
After moving to Connecticut in the mid 1970’s, Margaret became an active member of the Cheshire Women’s Club and volunteered for several organizations. She enjoyed reading, knitting, crocheting, quilting and rug hooking, and loved vacationing on Cape Cod.
In 1998 their dream was realized when she and William retired to Eastham. They were again active community volunteers for many years.
Margaret’s family wishes to thank the dedicated and caring staff of Cape Cod Post Acute Care for their wonderful care, hugs and smiles over the past three years.
The family is also grateful to Continuum Hospice for their gentle and supportive care and pain management in her last weeks.
There are no services planned at her request. If friends wish to make a donation in her name, please consider her two favorite causes:
