Margaret "Athena" Kitchen
June 15, 1964 – March 24, 2021
Margaret "Athena" Kitchen Eastham Margaret Athena Kitchen (affectionately know as "Athena"), 56 of Eastham, beloved life-partner of Randall Gill, passed away peacefully after a valiant fight with cancer on March 24, 2021. Born in Farmville, VA, Athena was the daughter of the late Sebron Earl and Elizabeth Kyle Kitchen. Athena was raised in the small town of Wingina, Virginia (Buckingham County) and graduated from Buckingham Country Hill School's Class of 1982, where she was a member of the marching band. Athena was proud of her Southern heritage and personified the values of hard-work, resourcefulness, and devotion to her family and loved ones. She was a long-standing member of the Antioch Baptist Church. While never forgetting her roots in Virginia, Athena was a resident of Cape Cod for over 35 years. She loved to explore the Cape's beautiful landscapes and would often spend summer days and nights on Nauset's Outer Beach. An avid snowmobiler, Athena relished her weekend getaways to her second-home in New Portland, ME. Athena, along with her devoted partner Randy (and beloved dog Cyclone), were avid travelers and had many great adventures together while exploring the US and frequenting Virginia and the Florida Keys with family. Athena was also skilled in the culinary arts, and was particularly famous for her special Mac N Cheese recipe. To know Athena was to love her; and her one-of-a-kind laugh and loving spirit will not be forgotten. The youngest of five children, Athena is survived by her four siblings: Evelyn (Konstantinos), Trekas, Nan (Roger) Wright, Amy (Kendrick) Christian and Earl (Michelle) Kitchen; as well as her only first cousin, Hugh (Brenda) Kitchen. Athena was predeceased in death by three nephews: Emmanuel Trekas, Gary Christian, and Sebron Kitchen. Athens is also survived by her daughter Crystal (T.J.) Kautz and two stepchildren, Amber (Hayden) Higgins and Corey (Paige) Gill; as well as her six grandchildren (Deacon, Lilian, Damion, Josslyn, Arabella, and Jonah), five nephews (Michael, George, Troy, Brian, and Travis) and four nieces (Litsa, Christina, Helene and Angela). In lieu of funeral services, and to honor Athena's passion for animals, we ask that all who wish to make a donation do so at their local MSPCA or Animal Shelter. A Celebration of Athena's beautiful life will be held at a later date.

Athena you brightened every day and I will really miss you as I know many others will too. You were always happy and wonderful to be around and I sure will miss your laugh. I hope you are in less pain now... but..I wish you were still here.
