Mary Holden, aged 96, died peacefully on June 15, 2025. Ms Holden was born in Boston to Dr. Cornelius T. and F. Lorena (Malloch) Hurley. She attended Mass College of Art and Children’s Hospital School of Nursing in Boston. She worked for many years as an RN, most recently at the May Institute in Chatham. Ms. Holden was an avid painter and reader. As a member of various Cape Cod painting groups, she regularly exhibited her watercolors and acrylics. Mary is preceded in death by her husband, G David Holden and step-son George Holden. She is survived by her children: Arabella Lyon, Victoria Lyon, Tabitha Gibbons, Lorena Lyon (Bob), Charles Lyon (Praiwan). She is also survived by her step-children: William Holden, Doris Maliszewski (John), Barbara Robidoux (Frank). As well as numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. Per her wishes, her remains were donated to the Harvard Medical School. In lieu of flowers Mary requested that a donation be made to your favorite library.
