She was born in Syracuse, NY, on January 27, 1930, to Charles and Mildred (Gotham) Leveille. The family moved to Framingham, MA, where her father founded Leveille Upholstery. MaryAnn attended Framingham schools and after graduation worked as a telephone operator.
She met her husband, Paul Flaherty, through a cousin. They married in 1950 and made their home in Framingham, where they raised four children. MaryAnn and Paul were devoted supporters of their children’s and grandchildren’s activities, attending football, hockey, baton-twirling events, and horse shows.
Summers spent on Cape Cod were a family favorite. MaryAnn enjoyed swimming, boating, and family outings to the pirate ship, puppet shows, and summer theater. Her great passion was gardening—especially her hydrangeas and roses—and she was honored to be included in the Orleans Garden Club tour.
She was affectionately known as Nana to her family. MaryAnn was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Flaherty, and her son-in-law, Gerard Cocuzzo.
