While I didn’t have Mr.Abbott as a teacher since he was long retired when I graduated from Provincetown High School in 2011, I heard nothing but great things about him not only as a teacher but as a person. My condolences to the family, friends and former students of Mr.Abbott. Rest In Peace Mr.Abbott I’m sure you’re teaching the angels in heaven how to make great things out of wood!

Very sad to read this news. I was a student of "Mr. Abbott", as we respectfully referred to him innate P.H.S. in the mid '70's. I learned mechanical and architectural drawing in his class and he put up with my whistling and joking around. His class was the safest and happiest place for me in a difficult time in my life. To this day I think of him when I draw a design for a cabinet or whole house plan - or every time I sharpen a pencil to a fine point on sandpaper. Love the photo of the old Buick. I helped a bit with that restoration shaping the wood roof with a rasp. Thank you to his family for sharing him with us. Peace be with him and you all..

I was so very sorry to hear of Mr. Abbott's passing. He was our class advisor (class of '79) at Ptown High. A great guy who will be sorely missed. My deepest sympathies go out to his family and friends. Peace to you at this most difficult of times.

I am so sad to hear the news about Matt. My thoughts prayers go out to Rose and his children. He was always my favorite teacher and I will miss him greatly. He taught me Tech Drawing and was our class advisor (Class of 1979). I got to spend time with him a few years ago on Bain Road and we had a few good laughs. I will miss him. God speed, Mr. Abbott!

I was greatly saddened by the news of Mr. Abbott passing. I consider Scott and his wife Nicole to be close friends and I know they are at a loss today. Through the years growing up and playing sports with Scott and staying at the Abbott's many nights I have many memories of Mr. Abbott. It brought tears to my eyes to hear the news and to speak to Scott this evening.
