Merilyn L. Delcourt

Merilyn Delcourt passed away on August 17 after a 4 month battle with various health problems.

She was born on February 11, 1942 in Brookline, MA and was adopted shortly after birth by Henry and Geneva Bell of Holbrook, MA. She attended Holbrook schools and Secretarial School in Boston. She worked in offices in the Brockton area.

She married Jim in 1969, and they moved to Cape Cod in 1971 after Jim’s discharge from the Marine Corps. She worked in the office of Misty Hill Landscape in Eastham for over 20 years.

She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Jim Delcourt of Eastham, her brother Clinton Bell of Eastham, a step-son Jim Delcourt of California, a granddaughter Jackie Delcourt of Rhode Island; a grandson Keith Delcourt, his wife Amy, great grandson Richard “RJ” Delcourt, and 2 great granddaughters Moana and Jasmine Delcourt of West Yarmouth.

She is predeceased by her parents Henry and Geneva Bell, first husband George Mattoon, and two sons Scott Mattoon and Charles Delcourt.

Visitation will be held at the Nauset Baptist Church, 1050 Great Pond Road, North Eastham, MA on Thursday, August 24, 2023 from 11:15 – 11:45 AM with a funeral service directly following at 12:00 Noon. Burial will conclude at Evergreen Cemetery, Eastham.
