

Patricia (Manning) O’Keefe, 69, of North Eastham passed away surrounded by her family on January 17, 2015 due to a brief and unexpected illness. She was the daughter of the late Paul L. Sr. & Mary F. (Ryan) Manning. Pat was raised in Belmont and was a 1964 graduate of Belmont High School. She graduated with a Bachelors degree in Education & English from Boston State College in 1968 and later in life earned a Master’s degree in Education from Cambridge College. Pat was an eighth grade teacher for 36 years and spent her entire career in the Cambridge Public Schools system.
Pat raised her family in Everett for 34 years and spent summers on Cape Cod in the home she built with her husband in 1978. While in Everett she was a member of Immaculate Conception Church. After retiring, Pat and her family moved to North Eastham full time and was a parishioner of Our Lady of Lourdes in Wellfleet.
Pat was an avid golfer and was a former member of the Chequessett Yacht & Country Club in Wellfleet. She was a current member of the Captains Golf Course in Brewster and an active member of the Cape Cod Women’s Golf League and the Women’s Golf Association of Massachusetts.
Pat was authentic and a shining example for her family, friends and students. She radiated energy, a positive attitude and determination to do the best she could in any situation. Pat was also a loyal Boston sports fan, especially the New England Patriots (Go Pats!). She loved her basset hounds, Moses & Elton.
Pat was the devoted wife of Joseph O’Keefe with whom they shared 44 years of marriage. Loving mother of Colleen Oliva & her husband Paul of Fayetteville, NY & Katie O’Keefe of North Eastham. Beloved grandmother of Sophie Oliva. Sister of Paul Manning, Jr. & his wife Jude of Andover, William Manning & his wife Maryanne Poya of NV, Mary Manning & her partner Gerry DePrima of Everett, Gail Romeo & her husband Mark of Amesbury, Carole Kim & her husband Richard of CA, the late Robert Manning and his wife Susan of Melrose and the late Edward Manning & his wife Shari of Framingham. Sister-in-law of Maureen Fitzgerald & her late husband Bob of Newton. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, special neighbors and dear friend Roselyn Gray.
Visiting hours from 8:00 – 10:30 am in the Nickerson Funeral Home, 77 Eldredge Park Way, Orleans on Saturday, January 31st. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated following visiting hours at Our Lady of Lourdes, 2282 State Highway Rt6, Wellfleet at 11:30 am.
