

Eastham (MA) – Ralph M. Younie, 89, of North Eastham, Mass passed away August 16th, 2026, surrounded by family, due to complications of Dementia. Ralph was born on December 14th, 1936, to Walter S. and Isabelle (Sanderson) in Quincy, MA. He attended Quincy Public Schools and played hockey for Quincy High School and is in the Quincy High Hockey Hall of Fame. He also coached youth hockey. He graduated from Fitchburg State College in 1960 with a BS in education majoring in Industrial Arts. He later went on to earn a master’s degree in guidance from Bridgewater State College. He started his teaching career at the Army Base schools in Germany and France. He returned to teach in Seattle, WA and Holbrook, MA. He spent the remainder of teaching career in Quincy Public Schools until 1999. He met his wife Mary (Moloney) while both were teaching at Atlantic Middle School. They lived in Quincy and Weymouth and have two sons, Scott and Kurt. In 1976 they bought the cottage in North Eastham and permanently retired to North Eastham in 1999. They spent many Februarys in Sebastian, FL and going on cruises to the Caribbean. Ralph was always remodeling the cottage and landscaping his yard. Ralph was predeceased by his father Walter and his mother Isabelle (Sanderson) and his brothers, Walter and Edward. He is survived by his wife Mary (Moloney) of 53 years and his sons Scott and his wife Andrea and Kurt and his partner Andrew. Ralph will be remembered for his love of family, kind nature, unwavering work ethics, sense of humor and his love for his black lab Boomer. Ralph was cremated (Nickerson Funeral Home, Orleans) and burial was private at Evergreen Cemetery in Eastham. There will be no funeral services, however a celebration of life will be planned at a later date on Cape Cod.
