Rechella Laplante Butilier

Rechella “Ricky” LaPlante Butilier 76 of Orleans MA, passed away peacefully in her sleep on January 27, 2026. Ricky was born June 8, 1949, in Manhattan New York to Joseph A. and Dorothy Ann (Kress) LaPlante.

Ricky is survived by her son Peter Butilier of Orleans, Grandson Landen Butilier of Brewster, Sister Suzanne Schmucker of New York and Ernest Butilier of Maine.

Ricky retired from the Town or Orleans after devoting 25 years of service as the assistant town accountant. She loved the Cape and made it her home for over 45 years. Skaket Beach was her happy place where she enjoyed quiet walks and every possible sunset she could. She would pay homage to her New York roots with her Carvel Cakes, but she was an unwavering Cape Codder at heart. Ricky was a “mother” to many, always giving a big hug or loving advice, playing “laser tag” with her grandson Landen, and stealing snuggles from him, always having the best Halloween treats and she loved going to lunch with her “ladies”. She will be missed by all who were touched by her love and compassion. A private ceremony will be held in her honor.
