

Born and raised in Paterson, N.J. he served for ten years in the 50th Armored Division of the New Jersey National Guard attaining the rank of sergeant first class.
He worked for many years as a structural steel detailer, making fabrication drawings for highway bridges in California and Connecticut, sketching the 300 foot long roof trusses for the indoor football Los Angeles Sports Arena the site where JFK accepted the nomination by the democrats to run for the presidency in 1960. He also detailed plans for missile and rocket towers including the launch tower for the Apollo space missions. On the cape he produced blueprints for hundreds of houses and served as clerk of the works for several school building projects.
Bob was a long time member of the Eastham United Methodist Church where he served as a Sunday School Superintendent and other positions.
Bob leaves his children Larry Brookhart and his wife Ellen, Liane Brookhart, and Janet Gibbens and her husband Russell; 8 Grandchildren-Derrick Stewart, Nashira Glidden and her husband Thomas,Elise Rieger and her husband Alessandro,Katherine Henderson and her husband Troy, Allison Johnstone and her husband Steve, Carina Woudenberg and her husband Mark, Raina Engel and her husband John, and Cherissa Woudenberg.He also had 11 great-grandchildren- Elijah, Noah, Joshua, Malachi., Paxton, Ellery, Juniper, Kiara, Allena, Fiona, and Arden. He also leaves many nephews and nieces.
He is survived by his brother John Brookhart and brother-in-law Gerald Calderone.
A celebration of life will be held later in the summer.
