
Robert “Bach” Charon, of Orleans, MA passed away peacefully on Monday August 6, 2012 at Cape Cod Hospital surrounded by his loving family. Bach was born in East Hartford, CT and was the son of Robert and Margaret Charon. He was a 1969 graduate of George J. Penny High School in East Hartford and a 1974 graduate of Central Connecticut State University, where he shined as a football player and wrestler. He spent his adult life on lower Cape Cod, working in the construction industry for many years. He will be remembered by many on the Cape for the time he dedicated to bettering his community, first as a coach, official and administrator for youth athletic programs in Eastham, and more recently as a volunteer and member of the Board of Directors at the Duffy Health Center in Hyannis. He is survived by his loving family: son Nathan Doyen Charon and his wife Katharine of Sharon, MA, son Benjamin Doyen Charon of New York, NY, the mother of his sons Deb Doyen of Eastham, MA, sister Margaret Gaylord and her husband Jack, sister Patricia Charon, sister Kathleen Charon, brother Eugene Charon and his wife Nancy, brother James Charon, nephew William Charon and his wife Kimberly and son Darius, as well as his beloved granddaughter, Zoe Charon. A memorial service open to all who wish to remember Bach will be held this Saturday, August 11th at 11 am at the St. Joan of Arc Church at 61 Canal Rd, Orleans, MA with a reception immediately to follow at the Elks Club at 10 McKoy Rd in Eastham, MA.
