

Robert B. Curtis, 84, of Venice, FL, and Eastham MA, formerly of Madison, CT, died October 15, in Eastham, MA, after a brief illness. He was the loving partner of Margery Lynch. Robert was born on August 28, 1928 in Staten Island, NY. He was the son of Chester Collier Curtis and Henriette Keller Curtis. After graduating from New Dorp High School he enlisted in the U. S. Army where he proudly served in Japan during the occupation. Upon returning to the U.S. he married Doris Ackerman Curtis, who predeceased him in 1996. In 1951, Robert graduated from Lehigh University and soon after moved to Connecticut to begin his career at C.W. Blakeslee & Sons. He was an avid bridge player and spent many happy hours on his boat and bone fishing. In 1993 he retired to Orleans, MA and Venice, FL. He was very active in the Harrington Lakes Condo Association and served as president for several years. Bob was devoted to his family and friends and enjoyed every minute spent with his family and entertaining his friends. In addition to Margery, Bob is survived by his children, Scott and Linda Curtis Zimmerman, of Madison, CT, David and Lauri Curtis Hadobas of Fort Worth, Texas, and Christopher and Nancy Curtis of Pittsford, NY. He is also survived by his grandchildren Allison and Michael Zimmerman, Katie, Callie and Robbie Hadobas, and Chester and Faith Curtis. He is also survived by his wonderful sister, Joan Curtis Kern, brother-in- law, Herbert E. Kern and sister-in-law, Dorothy Havican Ackerman.

A memorial service is being held at the Federated Congregational Church in Orleans, MA on Thurs. Oct. 18th at 1pm. A private burial service will be held at the National Cemetery in Bourne, MA."
