I  just learned today of Bubba's passing. My first thought was of great sadness. My very next thought was how he always had a great smile and big hello when we bumped into each other from time to time. We grew up in a great town of Milton and after all these years we would alway re-call all the great memories and friends over the years. Bubba always had a positive wonderful way about him and for others. He always proved to remind us all to keep in touch and as we all know with a sense of fond memories that we can all cherish having known him.   RIP Bubba ! I will think of you when I pass the many places we all spent time over the years in Milton,Cape Cod and all the Sporting events we bumped into each other over the years.   Dave Ritchie

I feel so sad that I am just sending this now, but it was only this morning I heard. My heart breaks for all of you, Bubba was such a wonderful person.  I would always see him playing ball with in the front yard with the kids and I would roll down the window and we would talk.  What a devoted Dad he was. Hugs to all of you.

There are many Great times and memories with all the Gunnings' over the years. Golf matches & bets, Parties and family gatherings where Bubba was always a part of a great group. Bubba & Chris were so kind to us when my father passed away with Chris working @ the Harwich nursing facility where Jim Passed away. Bubba was like another brother offering his love and sympathies to all. In the old days @ the original Fours location, somehow we never waited for a table even with 50 people in line. As Tom Gunning would say " He's One of Us!  Rest in Peace Old Friend!!

Sincerest condolences to the Maloney family and especially to his son Tim. Bob was a friend to many but most of all he was a family man.  He would do anything for his family and especially his children.  They meant everything to Bob and he was exceedingly proud and fiercely protective of them.  He always put their needs ahead of his own and that lesson has not been lost on me or his friends. We will miss the fun times,  including camping trips and ski trips with the dads and kids. Great campfire bantering and jokes, and especially the laughs. Bob could tell a story better than just about anyone and you knew if you were going to be spending time with Bob there would not be very many lulls in the conversation. Rest in peace Father Bob. You will leave behind many great memories, stories and accomplishments.

Bob "Bubba" was a very special person to anyone that was given the gift of knowing him. I know of no better conversationalist who would engage, entertain and leave everyone he met a little richer.  He made you smile, laugh, and enjoy the gift of sharing your story with a person that was truly interested and really cared. I saw this happen so many times with people I had introduced him to an hour earlier.  He was one of those rare people who you felt like you were sharing a gift when you introduced him to a friend.
My sympathies go out to all who knew and loved him. My heart is lifted by having enjoyed the great fortune of being on a very long and priviledged list; "Bob Maloney was a friend of mine".

So sad to hear of Bubba's passing. We played in the Milton Fastpitch League together on the Awful A's. I will always remember him with a smile. He will be missed. My condolences to the Maloney family.
