Robert J Palmer

BREWSTER – Robert J. Palmer, 70, of Brewster, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 15, 2018. He was the son of the late Russell J. Palmer and Virginia (Lamora) Palmer of Milford, MA. Bob is survived by his wife of 49 years, Pamela E. Palmer; 2 sons Jeffrey Palmer and wife Jill of Atherton, CA, Joseph Palmer and husband Kaysel Adrover of Bayonne, NJ; 2 brothers David Palmer, Bruce Palmer and wife Annette; 3 grandchildren Nora Jane, Eliza and Sadie; several nieces and nephews. Born and raised in Milford, Massachusetts, Bob, or Bobby as his friends referred to him, graduated from Milford High School in spring of 1965 and he and his three friends eagerly enlisted in the United States Navy immediately thereafter, serving in the Vietnam War. Upon his return, Bob reunited with Pamela and they were married in Milford’s St. Mary’s church on November 1, 1969. The couple moved to Orleans, MA in 1971 where they welcomed their first son, Jeffrey. In just a few years, it was time for a house of their own in Brewster and another baby boy, Joseph. Bob worked hard to build a home and a fulfilling life for his family on Cape Cod. Together they enjoyed vacationing on sunny, exotic beaches, skiing in the mountains of New England or spending time fishing on their boat in the Cape Cod Bay. A quiet, gentle man, Bob made friends easily. Whether it was working at Central Package Store of Orleans, or while running his PakMail store in Marstons Mills, Bob always found a way of making his customers feel like they had a friend taking care of them. A visitation will be held from 10:00am to 11:00am on January 5, 2019, immediately followed by a memorial service, at Nickerson Funeral Home, 77 Eldredge Park Way, Orleans, MA. Burial will be private.
