

Born in Greenfield, MA on August 10, 1923 the son of Lena (Barber) and Robert R. Peno, Sr. Bob attended Greenfield schools, graduating from high school in 1941. He then went to Dartmouth College for 2 years before entering the Army Signal Corps.
On June 26th, 1944 Bob married Jacqueline Scott a classmate from high school. They moved to Boston where Bob attended New England School of Pharmacy. Coming to the Cape he purchased the Orleans Pharmacy (now CVS in the center of Orleans) and later in 1959 he built the building on Main Street which now is the Homeport, The Hope Chest and Kinlin Grover. He sold the business in the early 80's and established a real estate business, Robert R. Peno Real Estate in the late seventies.
Bob was very active in town politics serving as Chairman of the Finance Committee and other town committee as well as serving on the Board of Selectman 1974-1979.
Bob was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend. He will be missed by many. He is survived by his wife Jacqueline of 70 years, son Stephen and his partner Melora, daughter Jane. His grandsons Jesse and his wife Megan, Benjamin and his girlfriend Danielle and granddaughter Sadie and her partner Katherine, four great grandchildren Adian, Brendan, Jack and Tessa Rose and several cousins.
Visiting hours will be Friday September 19th at Nickerson Funeral Home, 77 Eldredge Park Way, Orleans, MA from 4pm - 7pm. A reception will be held on Saturday, October 11th from 3pm - 6pm at the Orleans Yacht Club on Cove Road.
