Robert Paul Varley

Robert P. Varley of North Eastham died on Sunday, December 15 after a brief illness. He was the son of the late John E. and Helen T. Varley of North Eastham. Bob was born and raised in Dedham, MA and was a graduate of the Culinary Institute of America. He spent many years living in Vermont working as a chef servicing the ski resorts in the Manchester area. In the early 1980’s Bob moved to North Eastham and began working for the Town of Eastham as head of the Building Maintenance Department until his retirement in 2013.

Bob is survived by his siblings, Dr John E.Varley and wife Joan of Suffield Ct, Mildred E. Varley of North Eastham, William J. Varley and wife Elise of North Eastham, Martin P. Varley and wife Phyllis of West Dennis, Eileen M. Giguere and husband Richard of North Eastham. Bob was predeceased by his sister, Marie A. Wilds and husband Eddie of Dedham. Bob is also survived by many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews.

There will be a funeral Mass for Robert on Friday, January 10th at 11:00AM at Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Wellfleet, followed by a burial at Evergreen Cemetery in Eastham. The family would ask that in lieu of flowers donations be made in Bob’s name to St. Jude’s Children Research Hospital.
