Sue was a teacher, wife, mother and loving grandmother. Sue was surrounded by her family at home as she passed peacefully to eternal rest on August 3, 2020.
Sue was the loving wife of Archer Dowdy for 48 years, mother to Taylor M. Dowdy (Kristin) of Bedford MA and Katy Kyriakakis (Christopher) of Richmond, VA. Grandchildren include Hannah, Jay, Ansley, Andrew and Evelyn. Sister-in-law Beverley Heclo of Brewster.
Siblings include sisters Joyce Langford (Farrell) of Dalton, GA, Judy Cochran of Atlanta, brothers Mack Godfrey (Linda) of Orlando and Donald Godfrey (Cheryl) of Rome. GA. She was predeceased by her parents, Henry and Olene Godfrey.
Sue loved to read, sew and needlepoint of any sort. Tennis was a special pastime in years past.
A celebration of Sue’s life will be held at a later date. Due to the virus burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers those who wish may donate in Sue’s name to the Alzheimer’s Family Support Center, 2095 Main Street, Brewster, MA 02631 or Cape Cod Healthcare Dementia and Alzheimer’s Caregiver Support, PO Box 370, Hyannis, MA. 02601. These organizations have been extremely supportive of Sue and family.
The family also wishes to thank Broadreach Hospice of Chatham, for their loving support and caregiving.
