Virginia Ann Bayley, “Ginny” or “Honey,” passed away peacefully at her home in Brewster, MA, on June 6, 2021. She was born on October 29, 1934, in Lawrence, MA, the daughter of the late Andrew Puglise and Beatrice Puglise.
She is survived by her children Christopher Bayley (Kathryn) of Phoenix, AZ, and Andrea Cappello (Jay) of Salem, NH, sister-in-law Marie Bayley, grandchildren Angela Kendall, Meaghan Seymoure, Caitlin Williams, Kelly Bayley, Michael Bayley, and Nathan Pettengill, great grandchildren Joseph Kendall and Olivia Seymoure. Ginny is also survived by her sister, Beatrice Ness of Palm Bay, FL, as well as several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews.
Ginny was raised in Lawrence, MA, and worked in her father's bakery while attending school. After marrying, she moved out West to Maryvale, AZ, in August 1961, eventually settling in Glendale, AZ, where she started the family business Creative Crafts and Hobbies. She was a global traveler, avid reader and loved to explore the great outdoors of the West camping in national parks. Ginny devoted her life to raising her family and was always a large presence in her grandchildren’s lives. Known affectionately as G-Ma by her children and grandchildren alike, her heart was always in Massachusetts and the Cape, and she eventually moved back to Cape Cod in Dennis, later settling in Brewster.
A strong, determined and fiercely independent woman, she volunteered driving for the blind and worked for many years at the Dennis Senior Center. G-Ma loved the ocean, animals (especially her cat Kitters), celebrating holidays with her family, her garden and hummingbirds, baking, and of course, the Boston Red Sox. Her grandchildren are the beneficiaries of her famous casserole recipes.
She will be greatly missed by her family and lifelong friends. Per her wishes, there will not be a formal service. For online condolences, please visit www.nickersonfunerals.com.
