Eastham, MA / Daytona Beach Shores, FL

On Wednesday, March 21, 2018, Warren Kerry, loving husband, father and grandfather, passed away at the age of 82. Warren was born on August 26, 1935 in Rochester, New York to Charles and Dorothea (Brown) Kerry. He received a degree in Economics from Purdue University and spent much of his career in the insurance industry, establishing Kerry Insurance on Cape Cod in 1979. He married the love of his life and wife of 56 years Prudence (Prudie) in 1962; together they have three children, Dorothea (Dee), Warren Scott, and Sylvia, and daughter-in-law Moira Noonan-Kerry and son-in-law Alex Herrara. Warren also had the distinction of being the best ‘Grandpa’ in the world to his tribe; Amy, Charles and Maxwell.

Warren was generous with his time by serving on the Town of Eastham Recreation Commission and would often be seen on weekends posting signs, lining the ball fields, hosting music concerts, or hanging Christmas lights on the town green. He was active in the Elks and Masonic Temple. He enjoyed sailing, swimming, golf, music and long talks with his family and numerous friends. Warren was a remarkable man who persevered through both Leukemia and Esophageal cancer but never let either define him or take away his zest for life. He was known for his quick wit, infectious smile, and his kind and compassionate spirit. He was the voice of reason for many who trusted him.

Warren was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Elaine. In addition to his wife, children and grandchildren, Warren is survived by his loving sister Linda, sister-in-law Helen, brother John, and many nieces and nephews.

Services will be held on Saturday, April 7, 2018 at 11:00am at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, Harwich. A reception is being held immediately following at Ocean Edge Resort in Brewster. In lieu of flowers, donations can be directed to the Dana Farber Cancer Institute, 450 Brookline Avenue, Boston, MA 02115.
