Bill was born on December 20, 1945 to parents Bridget (O’Brien) and Jeremiah O’Callaghan. He was raised in Somerville, MA as one of 7 children, along with sisters Geraldine, Barbara, Eileen, Patricia, Maureen, and Kathleen.
Bill first found work as a “Computer Expert” at MIT where he met his future wife Kathleen (Kathi) Lonergan. He went on to marry Kathi and raise a family in Millis, MA where he raised two sons, Sean and Kevin. He is survived by Kathi, Sean and wife Leslie O’Callaghan of Dedham, MA, and Kevin and wife Rachael O’Callaghan of Pembroke, MA. He is also survived by his two grandsons, Casey and Conor.
An avid walker and conversationalist, Bill loved to take his daily strolls throughout either Jupiter or Eastham and keep up with all the latest news. As a Millis resident, he enjoyed being part of the community by collecting tickets at Millis High School sporting events, and spending his evenings with friends at “The Charles” where a cold beer was always the first thing ordered. He never missed a school function or sporting event, whether it was at Millis, Xaverian, or Pembroke.
“Bill” to his friends, “Dad” to the family, and “Bampy” to the grandkids, he’ll be dearly missed. Next time you play a song on a jukebox, we’d love you to think about Bill for a minute. A funeral mass and Celebration of Life will be announced after the holidays. In lieu of flowers, the O’Callaghan Family requests that you kindly make a donation to the Alzheimer’s Association to help fight Alzheimer’s (act.alz.org).
