I still miss seeing your sweet smile. Love and miss you so much 💗

The feeling is hard to describe because I wasn't there to say a few words about her. I spent such a little time with her but those moments were magical, her words I wrote in my heart. I still remember those words clearly till date. I learnt a lot from her. I met your beautiful family. I spent time with your son's and daughters. Though, I was a bit shaken during the period (as a result of the health condition of my daughter then), you all showed me the true picture of a family... I will never forget the time I spent with you. I will never forget the sacrifices you all made for me. I will never forget the time I spent with your son's (I spent quality individual time with them and it was magical). The arguments with O'seremi always after church. The matured discussions I had with Simisi and Azem and the advice I got from the number 3 man of the house. Finally,  you showed me how objective one should always be. You were open in your dealings, you were really supportive. You made lots of sacrifices for me and my family. I am grateful for all you did for us. I assure you, anytime I come again to the United States, I will visit your family and your graveyard to tell you how much "I LOVE YOU" and to thank you for all you did for me. Thank you Grandma... You will forever remain in our hearts. As you asked "I will not forget your son's", they are my brothers...

Mrs. Odu was and continues to be a kind as well as a gentile soul who always made you feel welcomed. Even though she was known for her solid wisdom, her unconditional love for helping the less fortunate  was something that will expand generations  to come.  I had the luxury and  most humbling experience of growing up with her four sons as well as seeing hands on the life lessons (good and bad) that we needed to deal with to become better men. She and her husband were always firm but fair… they provided structure and balance to all that sought it. Mrs. Odu will be truly missed and the community, her family, the world will be lost without her moving forward.  God bless from Duane , Ana and the Frisby Family.

My kind regards to a beautiful woman inside out. My first meeting with you was filled with good advice and memories.  Sleep good, Auntie, until we meet to part no more.

I had the honor of working with Bea at HBS for over 5 years. She was my Charge Nurse during part of that time. She worked hard,was diligent and always a warm caring person to everyone. Even with the most trying patient or parent she was calm and kept a smile. She will always  be remembered by me as the newest Angel in Heaven relieved of all pain.My deepest condolences to the family.

I met Mr. and Mrs. Odu about 8 or 9 years ago when visiting O'seremi in Florida with some friends. From the brief chance I had to get to know her and Mr. Odu I could remember her catering to us when she could with a hot meal,  listing to her share with us about O'seremi while she was resting, and how Graceful she seemed to be as a wife and a loving doting mother.

I'll leave you with a passage I appreciate greatly.

And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; [17] Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you. [18] I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you.

They say a good wife and mother is like the Holy Ghost. They are great comforters, share wise words of wisdom, and are always as near as possible in the hardest moments...

As you all move forward I pray you take all she gave you in love, never letting go of her essence, and replicating this through your relationships, experiences, and endeavors. Memories of our parents, their love, as well as their teachings are some of the best gifts anyone can leave to you. I'm happy you all have such wonderful gifts in all that they have given and shared with you. Yours are wonderful people who have created wonderful children. I believe this because I've seen your parents in action, and I know that O'seremi has always tried to handle me with care in the same way.

May God continue to comfort you...

Miss Bea, was a great woman, that I love like a mother, she was always encouraging and a great Godly woman. I remember when I first meet her after moving to FL, with great joy she said I have five boys, four sons and my husband and that made me laugh and she could always made me laugh. She was a very kind and caring soul I love you so very much. So happy you were able to come to my wedding and meet my husband, so glad you got to see pictures of my daughter my greatest wish is that you got to meet her. You would remain a great example to my live and encouragement to keep living a Godly live and knowing that God is always in control. I love you mom until we meet again 💜

Sweet Bea, you will be missed. I had the pleasure of working with you for many years at HBS.  You were the epitome  of a truly selfless individual. No matter what…you always had that big beautiful smile that could brighten anyone’s day. My life is fuller having known you. Rest easy and be at peace Bea. Love you!

“A beautiful person is a gift to the world!” Bea Odu was beautiful both inside and out! She was a momma hen to soo many, including the Enck family. She welcomed us into her family with open arms. I can remember many times that she gave her time and knowledge to help guide our family through the years… at church, at our house, in Tampa, wherever there was a need, she was there!  She was a virtuous woman- She opened her mouth with wisdom and on her tongue was the law of kindness. She was a matriarch. She was kind, just, loving, accepting, spirited, strong, and the kind of woman Carrie looked up to and we wanted our daughter, Mollie, to know well. She was the kind of person you just wanted to be close to. Her warmth and kindness exuded from her. We sat with her at church and visited with her every time we had the chance. 

She loved Vacation Bible School and was always there to help guide the next generation of students and teachers!  She was the kind of person you just wanted to be near, to feel the love and kindness that exuded from her. She was the keeper of God’s family. She kept so many people connected through her kind and caring ways. 

She will be missed, she was one of the most beautiful people we’ve ever met. The world will never be the same. We send our love and hugs to Steve, Simisi, Adri, Omataye, Stephannie, Azem, Christina, Oseremi and the grandchildren! I am still in shock,  That my ever happy  sister has gone to be with the Lord,all I have to say it's  is well sister Beatrice,  Bible says love your neighbor  as yourself, but you love your neighbor  more than yourself, you are a story  to be act on stage.You were a legend.we love you even unto death. I first met Dr. Steve in 1978 soon after he came from Nigeria to study in Daytona Beach. We soon became fast friends because we shared a lot in common and we were about the same age. He kept telling me his wife will soon come and true to it, she did. We were struggling students at that time doing menial jobs. One night I went to see Dr. Steve at his job. It was past midnight. I was shocked to see Beatrice there trying to help her husband finish up the dishwasher job he was doing. And guess what?  She was at least seven months pregnant with Simisi. And you wonder why Simisi is such a cool-headed and responsible young man. He learned it even before he was born because his mom lived the example with him in tow. I knew then and there that Dr. Steve had married a "saint" and I told him that. Those two had been inseparable and together they fought this battle to the end. Dr. Steve, don't worry yourself one bit. She is going ahead to prepare for you and will be waiting for you at the gates of heaven. You know her very well. She is going to make it grand as usual because you two were made for each other. You have always been her Knight and Armor, her Prince Charming, her Everything. The reunion is going to be splendid. God bless you and the family. 

I cherish your kindness and friendship.Sad to see you so soon but the Lord said it is time for you to come home.Your pain for twelve years is over and there’s no more pain.You lives a good life of a true Christian.I thank you for all you’ve done for me.Your journey home came so soon .I will always out the family you left behind in your prayersSave journey and rest in perfect peace.You left a family to proud off.My sincere condolence to entire Odu family.Due to unforeseen circumstances I will not be able so attend celebrations of your journey home.

Bea you will always be in my heart because I remember working together for 7 years helping others. That gave me the opportunity to see how compassionate, kind and skillful you were with patients. Those patients always had nice things to say about you. Now your spirit has found sweet confort in a peaceful place call Heaven. By doing so , you have found a joyfully place where sadness and pain end, where every soul is a friend. I have faith that the once I have loved are not lost, but live in my heart forever. I know every time I think of you  it will bring a smile to my face. Thank you.

Bea and Steve have been a big part of my life for many years. She shared many of her gifts with me. One thing we both shared was our love of children and mentoring others. She loved life and Afro- Cuban Music! Her kindness shone through in all her relations. I feel her spirit with me everyday. I know you are dancing up there. BEA was a dear friend of mine, she was a co worker for many years at HBS. She and  I have laughed together and cried together. My heart is heavy right now. Every time I think about her, tears comes in my eyes. I know she’s in a better place resting in the arms of the almighty God. Tribute to Mrs Betty Eve Odu.
Oh my word! What a lovely wife and Sister and most exalted Lady of impeccable class. To God Almighty be the glory for a life well spent. Thou oh Lord art the giver of life!!! From Him we come and to Him we will return. I am  short of words at this time because if I am to write 10pages for my sweet Bet it won't be enough. I therefore commiserate with my brother and the children for this great loss. We all know she is in Heaven.

I will never forget meeting Mrs. Odu. I am college friends of O'seremi from Atlanta and I visited their lovely home. When I visited, she was cooking a meal for us  and she gave me a toned down version of the food. She said my taste buds weren't ready for her spice. So I was like "I can take it!" then my face ended up like this 🥵. 

I can also recall her talking fondly about her growing up and about how she liked to eat beans for her protein instead of meat. Growing up in America this was a weird concept to me but she explained that she didn't grow up eating a lot of meat. So in that moment I gained a greater appreciation of our cultural differences as I tried to drink milk to soothe my burning mouth. 

I loved this sweet lady so much. I will miss her and her sweet smile. I'm so glad to have known her. She will  be in my heart,  till we meet again. Love and prayers to her beautiful family.

Moms are special people and Momma Odu was an Angel. I was introduce to Momma Odu back in the  mid 2000’s through my best bro Oseremi. Oseremi and I both worked at The Port Orange YMCA changing lives in both children and adults alike, and its where I was introduce to an angel on earth. What a rare occasion that was for me and my oldest daughter Nevaeh. To be in your presence was a direct link between heaven to earth. It was Momma Odu’s contagious smile that really did it for me followed by her grace and humility.  Momma Odu, you are in our hearts and minds and you will always be remembered. My faith tells me that flowers grows in heaven, so I asked The Lord to please pick a bunch for me to give to you.

P.S. Tell my Nigerian and Trinidadian Ancestors  that I am connecting the dots here on earth.

Tribute to Mrs Beatrice Odu. I’m really saddened to hear about the death of a wife and a sister.”There is never a day that goes by

While I was working at AMIKids with Mr Odu his wife even through her pain took the time to make my grandma fried bananas. My grandma cried with joy and eat my portion too. Mrs Odu I made my grandma feel loved and blessed through kindness.

Everything I know of you is what my mom, your sister- Grace/Moni, told me. She loved you to bits and never really accepted that your close sisterhood bond was broken.
I am saddened by your passing knowing I never got the opportunity to really meet you but I am comforted by all the pictures showing that you were surrounded by so much love.
