

Benjamin Louis Hope Jr. peacefully returned to his Lord on October 5, 2012. Ben was born November 15, 1929 in New York, New York. He was the third child born to Benjamin and Helen Herson Hope. Ben was the beloved husband of Rosalie Reilly for 56 wonderful years before her death in June 2011. Ben will be forever remembered by his devoted children and (spouses), Anne Correia (Kevin), Pat Clark (Paul), Steve, Mary Uanino (Walter), Ben (Deidre), Paul (Lynda); sixteen cherished grandchildren; his brother, Jack (Betsy); his sister June Sheetz (Don); as well as countless other family and friends who were blessed to know him. Ben was also predeceased by his sisters Barbara Vachris, Carol Gallow and Diane Selleh. After serving in the United States Army from 1951 to 1954, Ben earned his degree in Architecture from Cornell University in 1957, and then spent his professional career at William B. Tabler Architects, specializing in hotel design. Ben will be best remembered for his unwavering faith, commitment, and ministry to family, friends and strangers alike. After more than thirty years in North Massapequa, NY where he was an active parishioner at Maria Regina parish, he and Rosalie retired to Florida and continued to touch the lives of many more people through their involvement at St. Brendan's Church in Ormond Beach. Services will be held Thursday, November 1 from 6 - 8 p.m. at Volusia Memorial Park and Funeral Home, 548 North Nova Road, Ormond Beach, Florida. A celebratory mass will be held 10:00 a.m. Friday, November 2, at St. Brendan's Catholic Church.
