Godspeed Benny. May you be blessed with with fair winds and following seas on your next voyage, until we meet again. I served with Benny on the USS Los Angeles (CA135). Great loyal and honorable friend. We crewed together to WestPac and saw beautiful and not so beautiful destinations together. He and I have stayed in touch ever since, and met occasionally with shipmates Leroy & Marti for some good times. God Bless the Family during this dreadful time.

Joann, we are so sorry to hear about the passing of Benny. We have many wonderful memories of Benny from out trips to New Smyrna Beach, from Happy Hour on Main Street, to the wonderful hospitality at your house and tasting his special ‘apple pie’ special. Our thoughts are with you and your family during this very difficult time. RIP Benny

So thankful that Benny and Joann have been in our life over the past 20 years or so. Had so many good times. Their kindness to us will never be forgotten. To name a few: Giving us their house for guests that were coming to New Smyrna for our daughter’s wedding. Always making us feel so welcome. Our trip to Brenda’s in Knoxville, meeting us there and driving us all over the place showing us the many places they loved in Tennessee. A great man and friend we will miss so much.

It saddened us at Azan Shriners to hear of Noble Benny passing. He was such a positive influence & help in our fraternity. A sparkle in his eye always translated into a great story and conversation. Benny joined our Shrine Center transferring from Knoxville in 2015. Prayers for all his family & friends that they may feel comforted and blessed that they have known Benny and shared a time in life with him. Rest in Peace my brother and my friend.

Benny and I were classmates from 1st grade at New Hopewell
Elem. School through graduation from Young High School, plus
we grew up in Hendrons Chapel UMC. We are not related but we
have some common cousins. Sorry to hear of his passing. The
way our senior classmates are passing, I supposxe we will have to
have our next reunion with Saint Peter calling the roll.
Sorry for your loss. I know he will be missed.

Mr. Benny was a friend and mentor to me. I love to visit New Smyrna Beach, and seeing Benny and Joann was always one of the highlights of any trip. He was fun, he was loving, and he loved Tennessee. I’ll always be grateful for the hospitality and friendship he shared with me, and I will always treasure the trip we took to Panama City with the Glover family. I can’t express my condolences enough, but I also know he’s giving them hell in Heaven. Rest In Peace, sir.
