Betty was born in Georgia, but moved to Florida in the 1950s. She was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother. She loved gardening and growing flowers, was a member of the Harbor Baptist Church in Ormond Beach, and enjoyed cooking for her family. She was well known for her Maryland Crab Cakes (secret family recipe), and her biscuits. When her children were young, she was able to be a stay at home mom, and create those special moments her children remember to this day; she always made Christmas special. Once the children grew up she went back into the workforce and worked at Belk Lindsey in Bellair Plaza for almost twenty years.
Betty is survived by her children, Monica (John) Blanton, Ben (Margaret) Reihl, John (Nicole) Reihl; grandchildren, Daniel (Lauren) Blanton, Katy (Brett) James, Sarah Reihl, Cheyeene Gay; great grandchild, Addison James; and sister, Rose (Frank) Schinpaugh.
She is predeceased by her loving husband, Charles Reihl; and daughter, Cheryl Gay.
The family will be holding a Private Service for Betty Reihl at Volusia Memorial Funeral Home in Ormond Beach, FL.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to the Ronald McDonald House.
