Pauline Blake (née Medina), 89, passed away June 18, 2026, and her beloved husband, Charlie Blake, 89, followed her into rest on August 2, 2026. Married for 64 years, the Daytona Beach, FL couple passed away within weeks of each other, remaining inseparable to the end.
Their life together began in New London, CT, where they met and fell in love. Renowned for their resilience and generosity, both were dedicated public servants. Charlie was a former New London milkman, volunteer fireman, and long-distance trucking company owner with a photographic memory for maps. Pauline was the steady force behind the scenes in Orange County, FL, working in the public school system administration and serving pivotally as the executive assistant to the director of the sheriff’s department.
Their deepest devotion was to family; they selflessly paused their retirement to spend 20 years raising one of their grandchildren. They leave behind a beautiful circle of lifelong friends, two daughters, a son-in-law of 25 years, four grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and a large extended family of siblings, nieces, and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held September 26, 2026, at Volusia Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
