Cherie Tibbs, age 66, of Ormond Beach, Florida passed away on Wednesday May 13, 2020. Cherie was born September 25, 1953, in Ripley, TN, to her loving parents Odell and Dell Williams.

Cherie moved to Florida in the late 1970’s from Tennessee. She was always trying to serve the Lord. Her amazing faith and love for Jesus filled her heart and she shared that love with those around her. Cherie loved her grand-dogs, Yoda and Buster. Feeding, walking and caring for them brought her great joy. She also loved her guinea pigs. No one could ask for a better guinea pig lover. You could find her watching the Young and The Restless while holding her precious guinea pig Stormy. You could say that Cherie loved all creatures big and small. She read her bible every single morning, loved watching shows with family in the evening, loved playing games with us, and she loved to color. She never missed a chance to go to Bealls, and would spend an hour in the little boys section, looking for items for her grandkids. Cherie was giving, loving, caring, and loved to laugh.

Cherie Tibbs is survived by her daughter Tori Warren, son-in-law Greg Warren; two grandchildren, Alex and Gaige; her best friend, who is like a sister to her, Debbie Tims; her boyfriend of eighteen years Roger Wolford, her beloved cousin Randy Craig, wife Barbara Craig; her cousin Tracy Worlds and his wife Susan. She is loved my many cousins, including Celina Sumara; her uncle Dolan Craig, and his wife Marilyn. Cherie will be dearly missed by all of her family in Tennessee, along with many friends, who love her dearly.

A celebration of life funeral service for Cherie will be held Saturday, May 16, 2020, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Volusia Memorial Funeral Home, 548 N Nova Rd, Ormond Beach, Florida 32174.

Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.volusiamemorialfunerals.com for the Tibbs family.

I've know Cherie so long that I don't remember not knowing her...she was a sweet child that grew into a sweet woman and friend. I'm so sorry her last years had to be filled with sickness and pain but I'm so glad she got to spend that time with her loving family. No child could have taken better care of their parent than Tori & Greg and the boys did of Cherie and she knew it and appreciated it. I'll miss knowing she's not where I can send her a e-mail to just say hello or receiving her Christmas cards with family updates. We were family here on this earth and I hope to see you when I get to heaven along with Dell & Odell and so many more.

Twice, I had the honor being called Cherie's boyfriend. And twenty years apart. She was the kindest, loving , sweetest Soul I ever met. Since I'm from Upstate, N.Y. and she from Tennessee, there were some language barriers. One time, we were on the sofa watching a movie and she turned to me and said "Carry me down to the 7-11, I have a hankering for some ice-cream" I said "what, how about I drive you" She would shake her little fist at me. If you knew her, you had to love her. Heaven gained the Sweetest Angel Ever!

I was there when you were born, but unfortunately I could not be with you on this last day. You put up a good fight. I was there when I caught you playing hookey and buying a quarters' worth of gas for your Firebird. I have always been Uncle Russ and cherish that name. God needed a good grandmother & mother to serve in Heaven and that's the reason he called you home. Give all our family a big hug and tell them, we'll see them soon.
