Edward George McKiernan

Edward George McKiernan, 79, Ormond Beach, FL, passed away on January 31, 2025.

He was born in Providence, RI, on January 28, 1946. Ed graduated from Bishop Hendricken High School and continued his education at Johnson and Wales University. He was a dedicated salesman for CCP industries for 40 years.

Ed met the love of his life, Angela DiPrete, in the 6th grade. They married on January 8, 1966, and recently celebrated their 59th anniversary. Ed was a devoted and loving father to two children, Peter and Kathe.

Ed was passionate about creating beautiful landscapes at his home. He enjoyed bowling and was an avid sports fan. His favorite teams were the Boston Bruins, the Boston Red Socks, and the New England Patriots. After Ed’s retirement he and Angela left their home in Cranston, RI, to move to Aberdeen in Ormond Beach, Florida. While living in Aberdeen, Ed became very active in the Aberdeen Homeowners Association and served as the President for 2 years. There Ed became involved in many of the social activities. He founded the Thursday bowling club and looked forward to weekly tournaments. He also founded the shuffle board group and attended the weekly men’s billiards group.

Ed is survived by his wife Angela McKiernan, his son Peter McKiernan, his brother William McKiernan and his sister Dorothy Markham. He was preceded in death by his daughter Kathleen McKiernan, his parents Fredrick McKiernan and Helen Kanaczet and his brother Fredrick McKiernan.

Funeral arrangements are being planned and will be announced.
