December 20, 1956 – March 21, 2020
Elina was born on December 20, 1956 in Hempstead, New York and went to be with the Lord on March 21, 2020 in Ormond Beach, Florida. She loved her job at Calvary Christian Center where she served on the administrative staff for many years. Elina lived her life as a testimony to God’s grace. She loved selflessly and put her whole heart into enriching the lives of her family, church, and friends while adding her special touch to everything she did. She found joy in decorating, baking, and gardening but treasured the time she spent with her family most of all.
Left to cherish the memory of Elina is her husband of 34 years, James; their three children Victoria (husband Jacob), Jenna-Marie (husband Josh), and Joel; her precious grandbabies Ava, Mya, Kate, and Elijah; her brother, Angelo and sister, Nixsa; her brothers and sisters-in-law, and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Due to the CDC’s current restriction of ten persons or less on gatherings, a service will be live-streamed 10:00am on Friday, March 27, 2020. Please join us via live-stream as we celebrate the life of Elina.

Elina and I met when our daughters, Jesssica and Victoria, started kindergarten at Calvary Christian Academy. We spent many hours looking in the classroom door window as the girls started their morning exercises with Mrs. Christoforakis. We spent so much time outside that classroom that the principal, Mr. Patterson, gave us chairs to sit in. We then would meet again in the afternoon to wait for the door to open and the girls to exit. We had much in common. We both were stay at home moms and loved volunteering in the classroom with Jacob and Jenna in tow, then Joel arrived on the scene. We shared many years and hours at CCA, enjoying field trips, volleyball games, basketball games and PTF events. We not only shared having two daughters and a son, husbands who were quiet but always willing to do whatever we needed, our love for our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and our families, but proudly, the love of our “Blackest Black” liquid eyeliner! We were faithful, we stuck with it through the years, never wavering never surrendering to the pencil eyeliner! Elina was a beautiful, strong, loving, kind, thoughtful lady with a servant’s heart. She clearly exhibited the character of Jesus. Although years had separated us we would occasionally text about our kids. Elina has left behind a beautiful legacy in her children and grandchildren and touched so many lives for Jesus. I know she will be sorely missed but I praise the Lord that He not only created her, saved her, blessed her and allowed us to be friends, but prepared a place just for her at His appointed time! It is an honor to call her friend!
