Ernest Martin

Ernest Martin, 81, passed away Tuesday, August 21, 2012, at Halifax Medical Center. Ernest was born August 29, 1930 in Erlanger, Ky., son of the late Clifford and Corrine Gordon Martin. He was a long time member of the Daytona Christian Church where he was an adult Sunday school teacher and an ordained Elder since 1965. A retired manager, Ernest worked for, Badcock Furniture, Peninsula Life, and Southern States Farm Supply Company. He was a Kentucky Colonel, and has received numerous business awards and outstanding performance awards to include manager of the year. Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 63 years, Marie Magee Martin; son, Clifford Wayne Martin and his wife Rita of Jonesboro, Ga.; daughters, Marjorie Jayne Brown and her husband David of Moultrie, Ga. and Angela Marie DiGaetano and her husband James of Port Orange.; brother, Clayton Martin and sister Delores Steger both of Williamstown, Ky.; 5 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. He was pre deceased by his sister Maxine Riggs .Friends may call Saturday 6-8p.m. at Volusia Memorial Funeral Home 548 North Nova Rd. Ormond Beach.
