

Eunice Lillian Flahive, 94, of Ormond Beach, FL, previously of Randolph, MA, passed away peacefully January 30, 2020 at home with her son and beloved little dog, Snoopy, by her side. She was born May 6, 1925 in Boston, MA and moved to Ormond Beach in 1977.
Eunice worked and retired from ITT in Palm Coast as Executive Switch Board Operator. She received “The Alan Smolen Award of Excellence” for extraordinary and unique contributions to ITT-CDC (ITT Community Development Corporation) by James E. Gardner. As a child, Eunice enjoyed ice skating and horseback riding. She also took dance into her young adult age with dreams of opening a studio where she could teach dance. She loved the beach, sun, spending summers at Cape Cod and later the beaches of Ormond and Daytona. She loved to garden and plant flowers and work in the yard. She was a volunteer with the USO during WWII.
Eunice was predeceased in death by her parents, Paul Clifford Baxter, Sr. and Viola Mildred Baxter of Ormond Beach, her brother and sister-in-law, Paul Clifford Baxter, Jr. and Nellie Baxter of Bellview, FL, and brother Robert Kenneth Baxter (Kenny) of Waltham, MA. She is survived by her son Scott Flahive of Ormond Beach, Snoopy, her beloved miniature Dachshund, brother Richard (Buddy) Baxter and sister- in-law Julie Baxter of Maryland formerly of Waltham, MA, sister-in-law Doris (Dottie) Baxter, wife of Kenny, of Hudson, MA, formerly of Waltham and brother Bruce Baxter and sister-in-law Mary Baxter of Englewood, FL, and many, many nieces nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
A visitation for Eunice will be held Friday, February 7, 2020 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Tomoka United Methodist Church, 1000 Old Tomoka Rd, ORO, FL. A funeral service will occur Friday, February 7, 2020 at 11:00 AM, 1000 Old Tomoka Rd, Ormond Beach, FL. A committal service will occur Friday, February 7, 2020 at 12:30 PM at Volusia Memorial Park, 550 Nova Road, Ormond Beach, FL. A burial will occur at Volusia Memorial Park, 550 North Nova Road, Ormond Beach, Florida 32174.
Eunice was a founding member of the Tomoka United Methodist Church and belonged to the Tomoka United Methodist Women’s Group. Her family has asked that in lieu of flowers a donation be made to the Tomoka United Methodist Church, Tomoka United Methodist Choir, or Tomoka Methodist Women’s Group.
