

George Edward “Ed” Murgitroyde, 83, of Palm Coast, FL, passed away on October 19, 2024, with his loving family by his side. He was born February 5, 1941, in Philadelphia, PA, to George and Margaret (Watts) Murgitroyde.
Ed attended Bartram High School and was active in the United States Air Force from 1959- 1963. He married the love of his life, Judy, on May 2, 1964. Ed worked for the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) for 34 years. He retired in 2001 as an Airworthiness Unit Supervisor.
Ed had a passion for gardens and farming and all things outdoors. He loved growing vegetables and creating flower beds which led him to becoming a Master Gardner in 2016. Ed was very active with his church working for the Grounds Committee and was a Captain Usher. Ed was also active in his community for many years volunteering for the Feral Cat Sanctuary and the Agriculture Museum.
Ed found relaxation at the beach, fishing, and reading a good book.
Ed is survived by his wife Judy for 60 years; their children Greg Murgitroyde and Nancy (Mark) Davidson, six grandchildren, and one great grandchild. He will be sorely missed by his loving family and countless friends.
Services will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, November 30, 2024, in Trinity Presbyterian Church with reception to follow. Private interment to follow.
