Grace S. Metcalfe

Grace Marie Springer Metcalfe age 80, passed away peacefully, with her children at her side on September 29, 2014 in Daytona Beach, FL. Grace was born August 19, 1934 in Drew, MS to the late Dewitt and Gladys Fields Springer. She lived in the Ormond Beach area for 42 years. She enjoyed gardening and spending time with her family. She is preceded in death by her loving husband Edmund K. Metcalfe, Jr., son Edmund K. Metcalfe, III and daughter Sharon R. Hunter. Grace is survived by her son W.O. Slayton of Mayflower, Arkansas; daughter Sheila Gant of Vancleave, MS; son George Wade Stewart of Greenville, MS; son James Stewart, Green Bay, WI and daughter Rebekah Carr of Ormond Beach, FL; sister Virginia McGaugh Vest of Greenville, MS; sister Ruth Gillis Cross of Grenada, MS and her brother Frank Springer, Biloxi, MS. Also left to cherish her memory are 17 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren.

A visitation will take on October 11, 2014 from 1:00 – 1:45 p.m. at Smith Funeral Home, 1580 S.
