Gregory Sola Sr.

Gregory Sola, Sr., 88, a 20 year resident of Ormond- by- the Sea passed away June 1, 2017 at Florida Hospital Memorial Medical Center. He was born in Caguas, Puerto Rico to the late Marcos and Tomasa (Pereira) Sola. Gregory married the love of his life Norma in 1953. They were married 47 years. Gregory moved to Ormond in 1997 and immediately took a liking to the beach and all the surrounding wildlife. He had a passion for walking the beach, helped to track Right whales, coastal birds, sea turtles and enjoyed being outside in nature. He also enjoyed Latin music and dancing. Gregory worked most of his career in the hospitality industry in New York at the St. Moritz hotel. Gregory served honorably in the U.S. Navy. Gregory will be missed deeply by his family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his wife Norma.

Gregory is survived by his son Gregory Sola, Jr. (Theresa), grandchildren, Gregory Sola, III, Sondra Erdogan and Nichole Sola. He also leaves behind to cherish his memory great grandchildren, William Erdogan, Brittany Erdogan and Gregory Sola IV and great-great granddaughter Isabella Erdogan.

A visitation will take place at Volusia Memorial Funeral Home, 548 n.
