

Guildford (Gil) Isherwood, 86, of Ormond Beach, Florida, passed away suddenly at Coquina Center in Ormond Beach on Monday, November 25, 2013. Gil was born in Bay City, Michigan on March 26, 1927. He served honorably in the U.S. Army during WWII and worked as an analytical chemist for the Eastman Kodak Company in Rochester, New York for over 30 years. His father, Percy Isherwood, was an Episcopal priest, and Gil himself served over the years as a Lay Eucharistic Minister and Reader, and sang in the choir at St. James Episcopal Church in Ormond Beach.
Gil was preceded in death by his parents, the Rev. Percy and Eva (Porteous) Isherwood, and his sister, Alice Isherwood of Port Orange, and is survived by his wife Barbara Betts Isherwood of Ormond Beach, and stepson, Todd Betts of Ormond Beach.
A memorial service to celebrate Gil's life will be held at St. James Episcopal Church, 44 S Halifax Dr. in Ormond Beach on Saturday, December 7, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. The time and date of his interment at Arlington National Cemetery will be announced at a later date.
