

Harvey was born in East China Township, Michigan on August 28, 1966 and was the youngest of four children.
He was a charming and funny boy who grew into a charming and funny man, known for his personality, compassion and readiness to offer opportunities to many.
Harvey graduated from Mancelona High School in 1984. He proudly served his country as an engineer in the Armed Forces stationed in Fort Knox, Kentucky and later enrolled at the University of Kentucky.
He has two daughters, Brooke Peter (Benton) and Brandie Wilson. He cherishes his eight grandchildren: Isabelle, Jackson, Jada, Joshua, Karmen, Khloe, Layah and Luke.
Harvey is survived by his best friend and wife of
17 years , Dyan Murphey Rushford; his sisters, Rae DeRose (Robert), Nina Kathleen Renville (Edward), and Mary Hepler (Donnie); and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harvey George and Arni Rae Rushford. Harvey had a special bond with his mother-in-law, Margaret (Mama) Murphey and his in-laws, Paul and Pam Murphey, Kathleen and Patricia Murphey.
He adored his job as a loyal Resorts Operations Manager for RLR Investments and considered his employees as family.
He was well known in his community of Ormond-by-the-Sea, Florida and is remembered for his generosity, sense of humor and a keen ability to spin elaborate tales.
Last but not least, Harvey is also survived by his beloved dog, Dixie Lee Rushford whom he rescued from the Halifax Humane Society.
Harvey will be interred at the Cape Canaveral National Cemetery followed by a gathering in his memory.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Harvey’s name to the Halifax Humane Society.
